Wondering if you are pregnant? We understand how difficult and nerve-racking this time can seem. You are not alone.
Common Pregnancy Symptoms
Some women experience many or just one pregnancy symptom early in their pregnancy. Here are many common pregnancy symptoms that may point to pregnancy, according to the Mayo Clinic:
- Tender, swollen breasts
- Moodiness
- Nausea (with or without vomiting)
- Increased urination
- Fatigue
- Avoiding certain foods
Schedule a pregnancy test at our clinic if you experience any of these pregnancy symptoms to be sure. Get the clarity you need to move forward. Knowing the details of your pregnancy will determine what your next steps are and what pregnancy options are available to you.
Pregnancy Verification
Your first step to confirming your pregnancy is with lab-quality pregnancy testing. Though at-home pregnancy tests are very accurate – there is always a chance for a false positive if taken at the wrong time. According to the Mayo Clinic, the best time to take a pregnancy test is at least one day after your missed period.
After receiving a positive pregnancy test, an ultrasound is your next best step. An ultrasound is necessary to confirm how far along you are, the viability (healthy and growing), and the location of your pregnancy.
An ultrasound will alert you to any pregnancy complications like ectopic pregnancy (where the pregnancy grows outside the uterus) or miscarriage. If either of these complications occurred – abortion would not be necessary.
